Having Parkinson’s is a bit like having a ‘Daemon’, the mythical creation of Philip Pullman. A creature that is always part of you and affects what you think and do. I always imagined my Daemon would be a clever but cute fox. I never imagined it would be Mr P!
Mr P gets in the way, impedes and is an annoyance. He affects my balance and trips me up from time to time. However he also makes me think differently about things and in a strange way he opens up different opportunities. My aim is to gain a greater understand of how Parkinson’s effects my creative work, but to also understand and explore the therapeutic affects of art on my condition.
